Leadership Development Grant
Leadership Development Grant, a Growing Forward initiative to increase your profitability and strengthen your competitive position.
Program Description
The Leadership Development Grant program is designed to support continuous learning and education opportunities to build leadership skills in the agriculture industry.
Appropriate learning events will develop leadership skills, critical industry networks and encourage implementation of leadership activities in the Alberta agriculture industry.
Program Eligibility
The Leadership Development Grant program is targeted at:
- Individual and Group Applicants
- Primary producers in Alberta.
- Executive directors or a director on a board of directors representing an Industry Organization, Producer Group, Processor or Agri-Tourism Business operating in Alberta.
- An owner or senior manager of a Processor or an Agri-Tourism Business operating in Alberta.
Registration fees for approved leadership development activities will be supported by the Program. Some of the topic areas that may be considered for final support include:
- Team building and group facilitation training.
- Conflict resolution and consensus building.
- Coaching and mentoring skill development.
- Board governance.
- Strategic thinking and planning.
Available Funding
Assistance will be provided to successful applicants on a 75/25, government to applicant, cost shared basis. Maximum funding for the life of the Program is $12,000 for Individual Applicants and $25,000 for Group Applicants.
There is limited funding in the Program. Applications will be considered on a first come first-served basis and subject to the Program funding constraints.
