Program purpose statement

The purpose of the Growing Forward 2 Food Safety Systems Delivery Agent Program is to provide financial support to successful Applicants to deliver commodity-specific OFFS Programs and/or advance the development and implementation of food safety systems by delivering courses, workshops and seminars, by developing and distributing resources, or by advertising and website development. This Program is designed to enable competitiveness in domestic and international markets and enhance adaptability and sustainability for the agricultural sector.

How are costs shared?

The Program provides grants on a cost-shared, reimbursement basis to cover Eligible Expenses for Projects up to a maximum of $100,000 per Applicant per Fiscal Year. Non-profit organizations and post-secondary institutions are eligible for up to 100% reimbursement. For-profit organizations, registered partnerships and individuals are eligible for 50% reimbursement.

Who can participate?

Non-profit organizations, post-secondary institutions, for-profit organizations, registered partnerships and individuals that provide training, education and food safety related services to farm producers and the food processing industry in Alberta.
