Business Opportunity Grant, a Growing Forward initiative designed for your agriculture business to consider or implement a new business direction to meeting changing market and consumer demands.
The Business Opportunity Grant program is designed to provide assistance to Alberta primary agriculture producers and organizations in accessing one-to-one expertise that will contribute to helping their business adapt to meet changing market and consumer demands.
It is aimed at businesses looking to transform their operation and seeking the services of outside expertise to assess feasibility or opportunity, research markets and build business plans that contribute to the success of a new business venture or new business direction.
The Business Opportunity Grant program is targeted at Alberta’s primary agriculture producers, industry organizations, producer groups and new entrants to the industry who are adapting their business to meet changing market and consumer demands.
Contracting services that contribute to making informed and calculated business decisions to take a new business direction may be supported. Examples of the projects/areas that funding may be used for are as follows:
Assistance will be provided on a cost shared basis up to 75/25 government and the applicant, when individual producers or business are the sole beneficiary to a maximum of $30,000 for the life of the program or up to 90/10 government and the applicant when the project will benefit an organization, group or industry sector.
