Food Safety, a Growing Forward initiative to facilitate effective risk management.
The Food Safety — On-Farm Food Safety (OFFS) program designed to enhance food safety by supporting commodity organizations tasked with delivering to Alberta producers and packers, commodity specific national on-farm food safety programs that have been technically reviewed under the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) lead recognition program or have been developed but not yet technically reviewed.
The Food Safety — OFFS program is targeted at the following applicants:
Assistance will be provided to successful applicants on a 70/30, government to industry, cost shared basis up to a maximum of $80,000 annually with a maximum of $3,000 for capital items.
Organizations must submit an application form including a work plan and budget that outlines how they will deliver the on-farm food safety program to producers and packers.
