Food Safety — Processing (Delivery Agent)

Food Safety, a Growing Forward initiative to facilitate effective risk management.

Program Description

The Food Safety - Processing program is designed to enhance food safety by supporting commodity organizations tasked with delivering to Alberta processors training and awareness about adoption of food safety systems, attaining certification to recognized food safety standards and assisting processors to attain Growing Forward funding.

Program Eligibility

The Food Safety - Processing program is targeted at:

  • Food industry associations, operating within Alberta, involved in not for profit work with the Alberta processing industry.
  • Applicants delivering food safety training, consulting, auditing and risk based assessments to the food industry.

Available Funding

Funding will be cost shared on a 70/30 basis, government and industry association to a maximum of $140,000 annually. There is a maximum $3,000 allowance for computers.

How to Apply

You must first complete a work plan and submit it for approval prior to beginning work on projects. To find out more about the program or to be put in touch with an ARD specialist contact the Ag-Info Centre at 310-FARM.
